It’s not the same river
Sitting at my kitchen table with my son’s friend this morning drinking tea and talking about life, love, and astrology. He’s training to be a men’s group facilitator. At 28 years old I think that is tremendous, and much needed in the world. He’s 戊 子 Yang Earth Rat. A deep soul.
He said to me, “No man crosses the same river twice, because he’s not the same man and it’s not the same river.”
I stopped. I was struck by how profound that is.
Change is constant. We evolve through every experience, often without noticing, until we find ourselves back in familiar waters… only to realise we’re responding in entirely new ways.
The same situation can meet a very different version of us the next time.
And that’s the timing quality of Chinese Astrology. Same chart, different cycle, different influences, different you.
